Laurent Obrist studied at the University of Neuchâtel and obtained his law degree (Licence en Droit) in 2004.

Following a pupillage which he performed partly in a District Court and partly in a law firm in Neuchâtel, he was called to the Bar in 2006.

He is a member of the Neuchâtel Bar Association (Ordre des Avocats Neuchâtelois) and of the Swiss Bar Association (Fédération Suisse des Avocats) and he practices as a Barrister since the Summer of 2007.

He is acting legal council for the Association of Master Chimney Sweeps (ANMR) as well as the Student Federation of Neuchatel (FEN).
